Can I see my credit record?
Is it estimated that over a quarter of adults in the UK have some kind
of default history or other problem linked to personal loans or other
credit agreement.
We have links with lenders who will consider loans to applicants with
previous bad credit problems - these are usually on a secured basis. It should be
noted, though, that these loans will usually have a high APR.
If you wish to see a copy of your file held by credit reference
agencies, you should write to them giving your name and current
address, along with previous addresses. You should enlose a fee of
£2. The credit reference agency will then send you a copy of the
details they hold about you.
They will also send you information on how to proceed if you feel
incorrect information is held on your credit history file.
